TikTok Slideshows for Apps: Show One Useful Task

Show one task your app actually handles well. Use a demonstration account, readable screenshots, and a sequence that answers a real customer question. The recipe-app example shows how to make a modest promise, demonstrate it, and offer a relevant next step.

Quick summary

A useful app slideshow answers a question someone might have before signing up. Show a task from beginning to end, give the screenshots enough context, and make the next step easy to understand.

Start with a task that your product actually handles well. A feature list is easy to write, but a specific example gives someone more to judge.

Find a question you can answer on screen

Look through support requests, onboarding conversations, and questions from people trying the app. Choose one that can be answered visually.

For a recipe organizer, that might be: “Can I collect the recipes I use every week without mixing them with everything I want to try?”

This is a fictional teaching example. It does not describe a Shadarc feature or a real customer's result.

Before making the post, carry out the task in the product. Note the steps that need explanation. If you cannot complete it as described, change the premise before writing the opening.

Make a small demonstration account

Fill the account with enough sample content to make the task understandable. For the recipe organizer, a few named recipes are more helpful than a blank screen or hundreds of entries.

Use content you own or have permission to display. Remove account details, private notes, and information belonging to other people. Keep the demonstration consistent across screenshots so a recipe does not unexpectedly change name halfway through the post.

Write the explanation around the actual task

Here is an original six-slide outline for the recipe example:

SlideDraft textWhat the screenshot needs to show
1Keep your weeknight recipes separate from your someday recipesTwo clearly named collections
2Start a collection for meals you already makeThe new collection name
3Add the recipes you return to mostA few familiar sample recipes selected
4Leave experiments in a separate collectionA distinct collection for new ideas
5Open the weeknight collection when you plan dinnerThe finished, focused list
6Try it with three recipes you know by heartThe product name and a relevant next step

Use this outline only if the app supports those actions. If recipes can only belong to one collection, for example, the explanation must reflect that limitation.

The post makes a modest promise: separate two groups of recipes. It does not need an invented claim about hours saved or eating habits transformed.

Crop for the action, then add context

A full screen can contain more detail than someone needs. Crop around the collection name, selection control, or result being discussed.

Keep enough context that the reader knows where they are. If every slide is an isolated button, the task becomes hard to follow. A simple sequence might use a wider view first, a close view for an action, and another wider view for the result.

Check the screenshots on a phone. If the explanation depends on tiny interface text, enlarge the relevant area or explain it in an overlay. Do not redraw the interface to imply a capability the product does not have.

Match the destination to the post

Someone interested in organizing recipes should be able to find that task after following your next step. If the destination is a general landing page, make sure the relevant capability is explained there.

Keep the CTA specific and realistic. “Try organizing three recipes” follows naturally from this example. A promise to fix someone's entire meal routine asks the product to deliver something much larger.

Learn from the response

Record the post's topic, the question it answered, and the action you invited. Check the available post metrics and your site's analytics, while recognizing that not every visit or signup can be attributed confidently to one post.

Read the replies too. If people repeatedly ask whether existing recipes can be imported, that question may deserve its own demonstration. If people misunderstand what the app does, revisit the screenshots and opening before increasing output.

Shadarc can help assemble photo slideshows from a creative brief and selected images. Generate a manual result and inspect every screenshot and sentence before publishing a product demonstration. Keep the claims grounded in the product you are showing.
